Poker is a game of decisions; good decisions usually make you money at the casino, and bad decisions usually end up costing you money. One of the most important decisions that you have to make in an online poker room revolves around what you should do after the flop, based on one of two outcomes-hitting the flop and missing the flop. There are three main ways that you can hit the flop:

It improves your hand. If the flop drastically improves your hand by making your hand completely, whether it’s by pairing your cards or giving you a flush or straight, all you need to decide is how best to increase the pot size.

It gives you a solid draw. Draws can be sketchy, because you haven’t made your hand yet, but if you do, you stand to make a good chunk of change. Determining whether or not your hand is worth playing depends a lot on how many outs you’ve got. The more outs you have, the better. One or two, fold it, 6 or more, go for it.

You hold high pair in your hand. If you’ve got a high pocket pair and the flop comes out lower than your cards, then you’re still in pretty good shape. Another raise might just scare everyone out and win you the pot…just make sure that there’s no straight or flush possibility.
