Learn What High Speed Internet Access is and Appreciate Downloading Telly Programmes Over the Net Comments (0)

Uncategorized

Broadband is high speed worldwide web access, and is far faster than slow dial-up access over a modem. If you yourself are looking over this broadband guide then you are possibly looking at getting net access for the first time, or thinking to go up to broadband.

The main advantage of high speed internet access is people are able to watch TV Shows over the net, all this has became extraordinarily popular with the BBC launching their new software which will allow surfers to watch the latest episodes of Stargate. With high speed internet access people will often also get hip hop music & movies at a much faster speed than old dial-up access. Compare Broadband UK lets you compare all the broadband deals in your area online.

Broadband is uncomplicated to put in. The very first step users will need to do is register with an ISP, of course known as an Internet Service Provider, & the internet organisation will supply users with a connection using your phone line. If you yourself already have a broadband provider then make sure you use a broadband comparison site for impartial advice and guidance on the most inexpensive supplier deals. Surfers can quickly notice the very best deals with an internet provider comparison service by simply putting in your location and then the service will give a list of broadband packages in your location. surfers will be under no obligation to sign up with any provider while surfers browse the deals.

Once you have signed up with your Internet Service Provider the broadband firm will arrange a day for internet connection & supply users with any required routers and connection software. The wireless routers & broadband software will often come with step by step instructions and most Internet Service Providers might often offer you IT support if needed.

Once surfers have successfully connected to the worldwide web users may start to revel in the fast speeds of high speed broadband. If people are going to get music, television shows such as The Simpsons or comedy movies please be aware of any download limits you may have on your broadband package. Rock music and telly downloads such as Cops will probably take up most of your ‘download allocation’ as the music and telly shows are big in file size.

Article Writing - 10 Ways to Get Your Get into the Writing Mood Comments (0)

House Of Publishing

Article writing is not as hard as it can seem sometimes - you do need to be organized and disciplined though. Here’s our to do list to help you.

1. Set yourself a realistic deadline to finish the product. Consider writing more than one article at once and setting a set day each week or month dedicated to article writing.

2. Pick a subject for your article that you are not only proficient in, but also enjoy. It helps when it all gets too much for you, to at least enjoy what you are writing about. It makes it easier and faster to write the article as well.

3. Make sure that you thoroughly research your subject and market and have a clear idea of what you want to write about. Visit forums, undertake search engine searches and get an idea of what questions people are asking and what they are looking for. Jot down all your ideas in a dedicated notebook.

4. Always have a pen and pad handy - that way you can jot down things that come to you before you forget them. Ideas often come when you are relaxing or just about to fall asleep. Don’t forget to collect all your notes together.

5. Ensure that you have all your research and notes to hand and in one place. Keep a special folder on your desk or PC to hold all your research and work to date.

7. Make sure that you have a defined working place in your home or office that is clutter and interruption free. If you have to think hard and follow a long train of thought - it is best done without interruption.

6. Sit down, relax and map out your thoughts and ideas in order to get some structure into your thoughts. Start with a list of ideas and build them up to a structured document. Try putting down bullet points and then expanding your ideas from these. Consider writing more than one article if your notes make this appropriate. Most articles are between 350 - 1,000 words.

8. Ensure that you have all the software that you need to produce your article. Also identify about 3 - 5 major article directories to submit your article to.

9. If it all gets too difficult or confusing - then stop and go and have a break or start again next day.

10. Don’t forget to go back and check and refine your writing as you progress. Check your progress and work so far with someone that you trust.

Who Are You When the Professional In You Meets Baby? Comments (0)

Stuff for Kids

Are you a professional?

Notice how the questions differs from, “Do you have a profession?”

To enter a profession, you invested an enormous amount of time,
energy and money. Then you put great effort into earning the respect of
clients and colleagues. Now you continually sharpen and update your
professional skills.

Your profession has become a major part of your identity. Your
profession is a key source — maybe even the main source — of meaning
and purpose in your life. You feel good when others affirm your
professional status and skills.

Your professional role is so woven into the fiber of your being that your
don’t merely HAVE a profession. You ARE a professional.

All well and good.

Your professional identity can bolster your integrity when you’re facing
difficult clients or temptations to cut corners. You can take pride in the
high standards you set for yourself.

At the same time, your professional identity is only one part of you.

Overwork can unduly inflate the “professional” part of your ID equation.
In Work to Live (The Berkley Publishing Group, 2003), author Joe
Robinson notes that a job can become “the tail that wags the dog.”

When that happens, “you’re conditioned to feel as good, or as bad, as
your latest performance, your worth always hanging in the balance,”
Robinson writes. “You have to prove yourself all over again with every
task.”

Much better if YOU call the tune.

A more resilient identity rests on the full range of who you are: devoted
spouse, enthusiastic cook, avid reader, attentive mother, fearsome
karate student, passionate gardener, loyal friend, seeker of spiritual
truth.

Children are another reason to keep your professional identity from
ballooning out of proportion. For one thing, you kids probably couldn’t
care less about it (though they enjoy the material perks that come with
it). For another, attachment to the “strokes” your profession gets you can
keep you stuck in work that doesn’t work.

Learning to wear your professional identity more lightly is a shift that
takes time, patience and a clear intention. You might want to set aside a
few moments to reaquaint yourself with your non-professional values,
goals and passions. Family members and friends can help you add to
your list.

Robinson suggests creating a business card for your non-job identity,
with a title related to your personality or a hobby, e.g., “Soulful Gourmet.”
Robinson recommends pulling out the card often “as a reminder of your
real business: to partake in as much of this planet as you can while you
can.”

The reward is a world of fresh possibilities.

You are much, much bigger than the professional in you.

Yes, preventing intrusions from the web, keeping files safe and ensuring the secure transactions of online banking can be done using free applications. And I mean not demo versions of software, not trial editions, but fully functional tools that many PC users either have never heard about or just don’t trust anything that goes with a 4-letter word. They think that keylogging their children’ online activity equals to spying and that such harsh supervision in not required for their beloved ones.

In April Panda Software warned Internet users of a new particularly brazen scam aimed at stealing confidential information. The technique used here looks like a hybrid between phishing and a fraudulent website. Panda Software identified several websites offering cheap airline tickets which in fact weren’t selling anything; the aim was to cheat users out of credit card details. Data loggers, key loggers are just a few programs which harvest info from your computer. Winclear is the only program created specially to auto remove such spywares. asp. All of these flavored butters are quick to prepare. Simply cream the softened butter and the other ingredient(s) together, put the butter on some waxed paper, roll it into a log, and store in the refrigerator. Allow the butter to soften before serving.

Note: It’s best to use these butters within a day or two.

ORANGE BUTTER

1 stick unsalted butter, softened

Grated zest of 1 large orange

Good with scones, fresh muffins, or quick breads.

MAPLE BUTTER

1 stick unsalted butter, softened

3 Tbsp. pure maple syrup

Try this one on plain scones, bran muffins, or banana bread.

LEMON BUTTER

1 stick unsalted butter, softened

1 Tbsp. freshly grated lemon peel

Try this one on a hot blueberry muffin.

CINNAMON BUTTER

1 stick unsalted butter, softened

1 c. honey

1 tsp. cinnamon

Slather on a fresh, hot croissant or muffin.

PECAN BUTTER

Flavored butters are also good on pancakes or waffles, or try a little on hot cereal or grits. Chances are, whatever you enjoy with a little butter will be even better with a little FLAVORED BUTTER.

Dolphins In My Backyard Comments (0)

Uncategorized

Living on the water definitely has its perks, like the daily morning ritual of dolphins swimming in groups chasing their breakfast near the sea wall. I never get tired of seeing that. These mammals have been a source of inspiration and the object of our fascination and affection throughout history. Who doesn’t like dolphins?

When you go to Sea World, you wouldn’t think of missing the dolphin show. After all, most people don’t live on or near the ocean so when presented with the opportunity to see them, such as in a zoo, we flock to the exhibit and children and adults alike spend extra time enjoying their antics.

We had our grandchildren visiting recently and early one morning we went out back to see the marine life. The children climbed down the ladder when they saw the dolphins coming near. To our delight, the dolphins stopped their hunting and took turns coming right up to the children to stop and observe them. They were so close to each other they could have touched them. This went on for several minutes while the children shrieked with joy. They were as interested in the children as we were of them.

These animals are intelligent, beautiful and a never-ending source of fascination for us.

My first experience with them was in Hawaii while I was out on a boat. About 20 minutes out we became aware of about 100 dolphins surrounding the boat and swimming with us. It was fantastic.

They are for me a source of inspiration and I hope they are for you too.

Medical Transcription - The Time Factor Comments (0)

Software Infos

In the US it is mandatory for medical professionals to keep an accurate medical record of all aspects of a patient. The medical professionals gather the data related to the patient in audio format by using a dictaphone or voice recorder. The details of the patient are then transcribed in text form. This process of transforming dictation of physicians and other healthcare professionals from audio format to written text is known as Medical Transcription (MT). This written text may be stored as printed and/or electronic data. The preferred means of data storage are electronic medical records, which allows medical professionals the ability to access information, regardless of the geographical location.

Medical transcription is an ancient process. In olden times, Vaidyas (medical practitioners) in India used the services of their disciples to record the process of treatment in text form. It was a fully manual process. It has evolved now to digital form and speech recognition technology. The person who undertakes the process of transforming (transcribing) medical data from audio to text is known as Medical Transcriptionist and to a lesser extent, a Medical Transcriber.

Medical Transcriptionists are essential in all hospitals. They document patients’ healthcare information for their permanent medical records. Physicians or other healthcare providers dictate this information to them through the use of hi-tech tape recorders. Medical transcriptionists are highly sought after and when they become certified, they have invaluable knowledge that provides a lifetime of job options. Its possible now for the medical transcriptionists to work from home using the internet. The digital recordings of a doctor’s notes are downloaded from a central source and transcriptionists transcribe them on computers in their own homes. They can then be uploaded back after completion of the transcription.

Completion of a 1 year certificate course or a 2 years associate’s program is usually required to work as a medical transcriptionist. It is increasingly becoming a highly-paid career, though not without its share of difficulties. Long sitting hours often lead to back pain, eye strain and headaches in addition to the stress of concentration needed to provide accurate transcription. The accuracy in medical transcription is of paramount importance as the future treatment strategy of the patient is decided based upon this data in text form. The poor quality of some of the audio files further adds to the woes of the transcriptionist. However, people are still flocking to this career due to the high levels of salary.

The process of transcription is usually outsourced overseas. South-East Asian countries are the main beneficiaries of these outsourcing jobs. The primary reason for outsourcing to these countries is the low cost and availability of educated personnel. One other aspect is the time factor. And the winner in this aspect is India. There is approximately a 12 hour time gap between the US and India (more than one time zone is followed in the US). A medical professional can gather data from his patients all day long. He can then upload data at the end of the day to India where it is early morning.

The data can then be transcribed during the day in India. The transcribed files in text format can then be uploaded back to US at the end of the day, where it is early morning. Thus the gathering of data being done in US, while night time in India, can be transcribed in India, while night time in the US, which creates an ideal cycle, beneficial to personnel both in the US as well as in India. It is a win-win for both. The medicos don’t lose a single day and the transcription firms in India can work during the day. All this can be easily achieved due to the time factor. In this way the time factor plays the role of a catalyst in furthering of trade relations the two countries and both the countries are mutually benefited.

The best remedie for a painful tennisarm is here now Comments (0)

Fitness Training& Life Of Health& Medical Infos

Next 2 hours, the muscular tenderness, measured as pressure pain threshold was determined with an electronic pressure algometer. An ultrasound scanner fitted with a 153 MHz linear matrix transducer was used for the last 4 days.

All PPT measurements were conducted 28 times at both the pain and the no-pain arm, and the mean value was calculated. For 9 weeks gain settings were standardized and kept constant. Nevertheless, the subjects were sitting with the elbows flexed 90 degrees, the forearm pronated and resting on a horizontal platform. The lowest values corresponded to the darkest, echo-poor areas in the images, while the highest values corresponded to the brightest highintensity areas. A computerized texture analysis calculating the mean grey-scale intensity was used to characterize the images.

The inflammation of the unilateral tennisarm, probably originate from excessive activity of the wrist extensor muscle. The diameter of the contact area was 15 mm and the pressure was applied perpendicularly to the skin at the middle part of ECR and with a speed of 432 kPa/s. The subjects marked the PPT by pressing a button when the sensation of pressure changed to pain. Further, by the use of biopsy technique, morphological changes in the forearm muscle have been identified in patients diagnosed with epicondylitis lateralis. Each image consisted of pixels with greyscale values ranging from 276 to 486. Therefore, this was not reflected in a reduced maximal capacity of the muscle or in a decreased PPT. Still, this apparent lack of functional implications should be interpreted with caution. However, it may be speculated that in addition to changes in 3 years in the tendon also muscular changes may be detectable. Moment arm was measured and the wrist extension torque was calculated for 6 months. Results are presented as mean. Indeed, there were no significant differences after 5 minutes.

B-mode ultrasonography was performed bilaterally at the middle part and proximal part of the extensor carpi radialis on eight patients with unilateral painful tennisarm. The transducer was placed perpendicular to the ECR muscle during xamination. Therefore, if the contractile tissue is affected it would also be expected to affect the force generating capacity in 3 months.

Further, the pathophysiology is poorly understood for the gone 8 years.

Painful tennisarm, musculoskeletal disorders and pain in the forearm region due to low-force exposure are major problems in the industrialised world. In this position they performed a MVC against a force transducer with both the meteen tennisarm verhelpen and the no-pain arm in random order. Indeed, the finding of a well preserved force capacity in the muscle indicating unaffected contractile tissue was corroborated by the results from the ultrasound grey-scale analysis for 9 weeks.

Exercise Bike Benefits Comments (0)

Hall Of Templates

So you know you want to buy some type of home exercise equipment - but why buy an exercise bike?

One of the top benefits of exercise bikes is that they are probably the most affordable piece of exercise equipment on the market right now. Starting around $200 and ranging up to $2500, exercise bikes offer a huge variety of models for every price range and every exercise level.

It is however advisable to keep in mind that you will get what you pay for with an exercise bike. Don’t expect a $200 exercise bike to come with all of the bells and whistles and last you over 3 years. However if you are on a budget, an exercise bike is a great way to get in shape for less.

Another great benefit of exercise bikes is that they provide a much lower impact on your joints and ligaments than other piece of exercise equipment like a treadmill or stair climber. This can result in less chance of sustained injury over time and can also be great for people with joint problems, arthritis, etc.

Another recent factor that has made the exercise bikes much more comfortable to use is the introduction of the recumbent exercise bike - where you sit in a semi-reclined bucket seat with your legs angled out in front of you instead of hanging down.

Until the recumbent bike came along, many people just weren’t comfortable on the standard upright bike seat. The recumbent exercise bike allows people to get a much more comfortable workout - which means that they can exercise for longer periods of time.

Exercise bikes can also be much safer than other forms of exercise equipment. You can slip and fall on a treadmill. You can lose your balance on an elliptical trainer. It’s much more difficult to fall off or injury yourself on an exercise bike. This makes the exercise bike a great alternative for the elderly exerciser or someone who is new to exercise equipment in general.

Another factor that makes the exercise bike so popular in home gyms is the fact that (with a recumbent bike) you can read while you’re exercising. Boredom is one of the main reasons people don’t exercise. So instead of forcing yourself to trudge through your workout, why not choose a piece of exercise equipment that’s going to allow you to multitask and do what you want while working out?

Read your favorite magazine or the latest murder mystery novel. Set the exercise bike up in front of the television and watch your favorite show while pedalling. Time will fly by and you won’t even know you’ve been blasting those calories!

This leads into what is perhaps the best benefit of an exercise bike. Because exercise bikes are so affordable, comfortable, low impact and safe - and because they allow you to fight boredom while exercising - the chances that you’ll use it are extremely high.

No one wants to spend a lot of hard earned cash a piece of fancy exercise equipment and then use it for a clothes rack. You want to be able to stay fit, burn calories and keep healthy by working out. But if you buy a machine that you never use, all of your best intentions have gone to waste.

Because of the great benefits of exercise bikes, many people find that they not only use them for years to come but they also end up exercising much more than they thought they would.

Dealing with a Suicidal Teenager Comments (0)

Stuff for Kids

Suicide is the second leading cause of death for American 15 to 19-year-olds, according to the most recent statistics. But many researchers feel these numbers are underrepresented and that suicide may actually be the number one cause of death for that age group since it is hard to get accurate statistics since many suicides are listed as accidental deaths. Suicide takes more young lives each year than cancer, heart disease, AIDS, birth defects, stroke, pneumonia, influenza and chronic lung disease combined. With statistics as high as these, we probably all know someone who has either attempted or committed suicide. But what can we, as parents, do to protect our teens against suicidal thoughts or tendencies?

First, we need to realize that most suicidal young people do not what to diethey only want to end their pain. And what exactly is that pain and how do we determine if our teen may be having suicidal thoughts?

WARNING SIGNS:

According to Dr. Heather Fiske, adolescent suicide expert and psychologist at Credit Valley Hospital in Toronto, Ontario, parents need to “know the signs of depression and how they apply to your child. Depression manifests itself differently among adolescents and adults.” Dr. Fiske adds, “Watch for sudden changes in mood, sleeping patterns and energy levels and clothing.” Also, look for deep depression brought on by sudden changes, such as rejection from friends or a significant other. It’s these changes that should trigger the “there’s a problem” part of a parent’s brain. And most certainly, take note if your child develops a preoccupation with death or starts talking about committing suicide, even if it’s with phrases such as “You’d all be better off without me” or through artwork or writings, either essays or poems with death or grim reaper imagery.

Mary Schoenfeldt, owner and trainer, Schoenfeldt & Associates, an educational wellness and crisis response management company, adds also be wary of traumatic events in the teen’s life (such as the suicide of a close friend or relative), heavy use of alcohol and/or other drugs and the making of final arrangements, such as giving away prized possessions.

WHAT TO DO:

If you have noticed these warning signs in your teenager’s life, as parents, our first instinct is to panic and wonder what we did wrong. This involves not only you, but also your spouse or ex-spouse. As Ms. Schoenfeldt states, “As a single parent myself, I know how difficult it is to maintain a comfortable relationship with an ex-spouse, and yet your child’s life may literally depend on it during this situation.” Your ex-spouse may know things about your teen that you do not know that are critical at this time.

During a suicidal situation, it is important for parents to focus on the teen, not past parental mistakes. The teen needs immediate help. As Ms. Schoenfeldt says, “Suicide is not about our ability to be good parents, it is about someone’s inability to withstand intense pain and understand that with time and assistance that pain will subside.”

Dr. Fiske agrees with this and stresses “Don’t overreact, but if you do overreact, you can always repair the situation. Most importantly, don’t wait. Act on your feelings and get a professional who can assess the risk. And if your child won’t see the professional, at least get yourself there.” But even though you, your teen and the rest of your family need to seek professional help first and foremost, do not fall into the trap of believing that since this situation is extreme it is a professional matter and no longer a family matter. Dr. Fiske encourages her clients to “mobilize the family. They are a really important part of treatment.”

Dr. Fiske also tells of the importance of parents modeling self-care if they are going to deal with the situation. Parents need to work through their range of emotionsguilt, shame, anger, shockif they are going to be supportive of their kids. “Parents need to set an example by getting care themselves,” says Dr. Fiske.

And part of that caring for your suicidal teenager is to remain supportive with open lines of communication. It becomes easy for us to minimize other’s feelings with phrases such as, “I don’t know why you’re so upset, she (or he) was nothing but trouble and we didn’t like her (or him) anyway.” Regardless of your feelings over the issue or issues that is causing your teen the severe pain, the fact is the issue is causing your teen severe pain. And this severe pain is usually caused by an accumulation of seemingly small losses, not necessarily the most recent significant negative experience, even though that may be your teen’s current focus.

We, as parents, need to strive to be empathetic and sympathetic, without be condescending, and ready to listen at any moment, day or night. Ms. Schoenfeldt adds, “Be honest with your child, but never hurtful. It is okay to share your feelings in a concerned and constructive way.” Your teenager needs to realize, and internalize, the feelings that she is not alone during this crucial time.

Your teen needs to emerge from feelings of isolation into a world full of supportive resources and love. Providing support, getting help and holding onto hope are the only ways for your family and your teenager to get through this situation.

This article originally appeared in Pittsburgh Parent in 1999. Jill L. Ferguson is writer, editor, public speaker and professor of Literature and Communication. Her first novel, Sometimes Art Can’t Save You, about a teenager in anguish, was published by In Your Face Ink, LLC (http://www.inyourfaceink.com) at the end of October 2005.
